Hill Texas Artisans and Artists Archive \nMichelle Verret Johnson is the project manager of the William J. Hill Texas Artisans and Artists Archive at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens in Houston. Since joining the Hill Archive in 2014\, she has engaged in numerous partnerships at museums\, libraries\, and with private collectors across Texas to develop this collaborative online archive. Michelle recently has served as Chair for the Consortium of Online Decorative Arts\, an international advocacy and mentorship group working to make research tools and collections about decorative arts and craftspeople available online. \nOriginally from St. Martinville\, Louisiana\, Michelle previously worked as the Curator and Director of the Acadian Memorial and Museum in St. Martinville. While in St. Martinville\, she began a monthly genealogy workshop and reinstated a local DAR chapter. She also worked on the Digitizing Louisiana Newspapers Project and the Louisiana Bilingualism Research Initiative\, both digital archives at LSU.
